About the event

Ancestry. Caribbean history and heritage. Black history that cannot be erased.

Join us on July 15th from 6-8 p.m.  for an evening with Emmy award-winning journalist and Morehouse College professor Nicole Carr. Carr will discuss her new book, The Price of Exclusion: The Pursuit of Healthcare in a Segregated Nation.

Together with South Florida's distinguished Dr. Rosemarie Adamson-Lewis, Carr will take us on a journey through the pages of her new book, described by Publishers Weekly as "a searing debut" that serves as "an eye-opening revelation of systemic racism in American medical training and a moving celebration of the Black doctors who persisted."

Carr, the niece of renowned South Florida artist Orel Ferguson, will be onsite at the Doubletree by Hilton Sunrise hotel to engage in the conversation and sign books provided by Black woman-owned, D.C. based bookseller, Pages & Volumes.
